There are unlimited recreational opportunities in this area. Silver Cliff Camp is located in Marinette County, Wisconsin with over 200 lakes and 2,000 miles of streams, 19 County Parks, 231,000 acres of County Forest Land, the new Governor Thompson State Park and the Peshtigo River State Forest surrounding High Falls & Caldron Falls Flowages.

 Neighboring Oconto County offers access to 180,000 acres of public lands, 100 miles of ATV trails, 341 miles of trout streams, 58 lakes with public access and 98 miles of hiking and biking trails.

ATV Trails
Marinette County offers approximately 130 miles of ATV trails. 

Bicycling
"Marinette County Scenic Bicycle Routes" is available by calling 1-800-236-6681.

Boating
Area waterways offer a variety of boating options with abundant public boat launches on nearby lakes and flowages. Rental of pantoon boats, canoes and fishing boats and motors are available in the immediate area.

County Parks
Marinette County maintains 19 county parks, most offering picnic tables, playgrounds, swimming, fishing and hiking.

Country Music Fest
Annual music festivals held in Porterfield and Lakewood.

Cross-Country Skiing
Well maintained trails are nearby as well as equipment rental.

Fall Colorama
From mid-September to mid-October, come see the north woods aflame with color. Visit the Mountain Fire Tower for a spectacular view from above.

Fishing
With an abundance of trout streams, rivers, small lakes and the nearby flowages, there are many fishing opportunities in this area, from pan fish and trout to trophy muskies. Bait shops, boat rentals, marine dealers and guide service are available locally.

Fish Hatchery
Trout rearing station at Thunder Mountain and in Lakewood.

Golf Courses
Area golf courses offer a variety of course layouts with a wide range of difficulty levels.

Hunting
Our area offers both gun and bow season. Species include white tail deer, bear, wild turkey, grouse, woodcock and small game.

Laona Steam Train
Take a ride through the forest on a historic Steam Train. Fall Color rides are especially nice. Located about 45 minutes NW, just west of Laona on Hwy 8.

Museums
Located nearby are the Crivitz Area Museum, the Peshtigo Fire Museum and Logging Museums in Marinette and Wabeno.

Nation Forest
The Nicolet National Forest borders the western edge of Marinette County, offering unique recreational opportunities to the outdoor enthusiast.

Rustic Road Tour
Just minutes away, Wisconsin Rustic Road #32 (Parkway Road) is an ideal scenic tour by car or bicycle.

Snowmobiling

State Park & Forest
The Governor Thompson State Park encompasses the southern shore of Caldron Falls Flowage, and the Peshtigo River State Forest covers about 9,000 acres around Caldron and High Falls Flowage.

Swimming
There are a variety of public parks and beaches in the surrounding area.

Walking & Hiking Trails
There are a multitide of established trails in the area both in the National Forest and on Marinette County Parks & Forest lands.

Water Ski Shows
Area ski teams perform on Lake Noquebay & High Falls Flowage

Waterfall Tour
Marinette County is the Waterfall Capitol of Wisconsin.
